For our Final Project, our Ideal Bee groups were instructed to come up with either a product, service or other method to educate the public about the dying honey bee population and to bring awareness to the issues that we discussed in class. After shooting down idea after idea, my group finally came up with a project we were all enthusiastic about, a game! The game would specifically be a phone game, both on iOS and Android, that would allow users to drag a bee across the bottom of the screen collecting good things as they fell down to raise their score and honey totals and avoiding harmful things to prevent Colony Collapse Disorder and killing their beehive! We designed everything of how the app would look like from gameplay, game menus and the app logo. After presenting our final project to the class we received incredible feedback and we are currently looking into developing the mockup into a real app that we can download. Before beginning our final projects, the entire class agreed on combining our groups and creating an overarching project; a company (tentatively called Sticky Innovation) that would aim to bring awareness to the dying honeybee crisis and introduce solutions that the everyday citizen could use to help combat the problem. My group worked on the app, another group worked on developing a Smart Hive that would allow anyone to raise honeybees on their own without labor intesive equipment, and another group worked as an outreach group bringing education and awareness to the public. You can see our entire company site along with links to each group's individual project down below.
